Al-Burhan affirms Sudan's keenness to develop its relationship with France


The Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council in Sudan, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, affirmed Sudan’s keenness to develop its relationship and enhance cooperation and coordination with France to achieve common interests internationally and regionally.


Al-Burhan awarded the French ambassador to Sudan, Emmanuel Platman, the Order of the Two Niles, of the first class, on the occasion of the end of her period of work in Sudan, and in appreciation of her efforts to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.


In a press statement after her meeting with the President of the Sovereign Council, the French ambassador expressed her happiness to witness during her tenure the start of the December revolution and the great political transformation it brought about in Sudan.


She said that the partnership between civilians and the military is a good model that has led to many achievements despite the mismanagement and dictatorship during the previous rule, and we believe that Sudan is moving in the right direction.


She pointed out that the removal of Sudan from the list of state sponsors of terrorism and the signing of the Juba Peace Agreement brought him great external openness towards the international community and international economic institutions in particular, but there are still many challenges, stressing that France will remain supportive of Sudan.


On the other hand, the Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council in Sudan, Lieutenant-General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, awarded the Ambassador of the Republic of Djibouti in Khartoum Ahmed Ali Berri, the Order of the Two Niles, of the first class, on the occasion of the end of his tenure in Sudan, in appreciation of his efforts to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.


The Ambassador of Djibouti conveyed to the Chairman of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council the greetings of the President of Djibouti, Ismail Omar Guelleh, stressing the eternal and strong relations between Sudan and Djibouti.
