Tunisian media: Expectations to dismiss all governors and freeze municipal councils

Al-Arabiya news channel quoted Tunisian media as saying that there are expectations to dismiss all governors and freeze municipal councils.

The President of the Tunisian Republic, Kais Saied, had issued a presidential order deciding to dismiss Hicham Mechichi, the head of government in charge of managing the affairs of the Ministry of the Interior, Ibrahim El-Bertajy, Minister of National Defense, and Hasna Ben Slimane, Minister to the Prime Minister in charge of public service and acting Minister of Justice, starting from Yesterday Sunday.

According to the statement of the Tunisian presidency, it was decided, according to the same order, that the secretaries-general or those charged with administrative and financial affairs at the head of the government and the aforementioned ministries would handle their administrative and financial affairs until a new prime minister and new members were named.

In another context, Tunisian President Kais Saied met today, Monday, at the Carthage Palace, Abdel Majid Al-Zar, head of the Tunisian Union of Agriculture and Fishing.
