Australian tennis player de Minaur will miss the Olympics due to Corona

The Australian Olympic Committee announced the absence of tennis player Alex de Minaur, ranked 17th in the world, due to his suffering from the new Corona virus in Spain, the country in which he resides, so he will therefore miss the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

De Minaur, 22, who was born in Sydney to a Uruguayan father and a Spanish mother, was registered to play in the Olympic tournament in singles and doubles.

"We are very disappointed for Alex, he has told us he's broken inside, it's very bad news because he was so excited to represent Australia," AOC Vice President Ian Kesterman said.

According to the committee, the sample of the rest of the Australian athletes who will participate in the Olympics came out negative.
