The UAE announces amendments to some provisions relating to residency in the country


Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the United Arab Emirates, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, amended several provisions in the field of nationality and residency affairs in the United Arab Emirates.


And the Emirati newspaper Al Bayan reported that the Vice President of the State issued Cabinet Resolution No. 57 of 2021, regarding the amendment of “some provisions of Cabinet Resolution No. (22) of 2014 regarding the organization and development of services for the Nationality, Residency Affairs and Ports Sector in the Federal Authority for Nationality Identity, published in No. 15 June of the Federal Official Gazette.


The first article of the decision stipulated adding a number of services and fees to Table No. (1) attached to the previous Cabinet Resolution No. 22 of 2014.”


It was pointed out that this table specified “the fee for entry permit for a virtual work residence at a value of 250 dirhams as the value of fees for the application and issuance for a stay of 60 days, and the value of a permit or renewal of a virtual work permit for a year at 200 dirhams for the application, issuance and renewal, and the value of the application and issuance fees for entry permits for residence permits for family members The holder of the virtual work residence permit (for each individual) 250 dirhams for a stay of 60 days.


The new table also specified “the fee for a permit or renewal of residence for a family member of the holder of a virtual work residence permit (for each individual) 200 dirhams of application and issuance or renewal fees, and the decision also specified the fees for a multi-entry tourist visa for all nationalities for a period of 5 years (the fee is paid once for the entire period). At a value of 600 dirhams, 100 dirhams for the request and 500 dirhams for the issuance, so that the period of stay in the country does not exceed 90 days in total in one year, and the duration of stay is extended for more than 90 days in one year for holders of the multi-entry tourist visa at a fee of 350 dirhams as the value of the application and issuance fees, so that An additional 90 days are added to each extension in the year.


The decision of the UAE Cabinet stipulates setting the “entry permit fee for the residence of the family of a university student (per individual) at 150 dirhams for a stay of 60 days, and the fee for the residence permit for the family of a university student (for each individual) at a value of 150 dirhams for the duration of one year’s stay, and the fee will be at the same value 150 dirhams. If the permit is renewed for another year.


The second article of this decision canceled every provision that contradicts or contradicts the provisions of this decision, while the third and final article stipulated that the decision be published in the Official Gazette and that it shall be implemented on the next day from the date of its publication.
