Al-Anani meets with the "revitalization of tourism" and an international alliance to launch a promotional campaign for Egypt

The meeting of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion headed by Dr. Khaled Al-Anani, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, discussed a number of issues related to the mechanisms and proposals for promoting tourism to Egypt more during the coming period.


Among the topics discussed came the agenda of internal events and activities of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and those of the various ministries and governorates for the next three months to discuss the possibility of using them in tourism promotion to Egypt, as Dr. Khaled Al-Anani stressed the importance of having a unified agenda for all events and activities in Egypt.


The possibility of organizing a number of important events and activities throughout the year in a number of different tourism governorates was also discussed in order to benefit from their returns in highlighting the various tourist and archaeological components of Egypt, in cooperation with the Egyptian Federation of Tourist Chambers, Tourist Chambers, ministries and the concerned authorities, including sports, cultural and artistic events and festivals. The minister pointed out some events and activities that will be organized by the ministry during the next few months, such as the ceremony of the inauguration of the Rams Road restoration project in Luxor, and the inauguration of the Muhammad Ali Palace in Shubra.


The Council was also briefed on the developments of the media strategy prepared by one of the international consortia that the ministry contracted with last January, as Dr. Khaled Al-Anani explained that this alliance is scheduled to complete the preparation of this strategy, with a maximum of two months, in order to launch an international promotional campaign for Egypt for a period of three Years before the beginning of the fall of this year, this campaign aims to promote tourism to Egypt further to attract more tourists to it.


During the meeting, the developments related to the promotion of what is provided by the various social media pages for tourism promotion to Egypt, especially through the pages of the Ministry and the Authority, were reviewed, and the members of the Board of Directors were informed of the tourism exhibitions in which the authority participated during the last period, including exhibitions that were participated in by default.


In addition, the possibility of organizing tourist convoys in a number of tourist markets exporting to Egypt and buying advertising space on the various social media sites in these markets to promote the Egyptian destination was discussed, with the recommendation of the importance of forming a working group between the ministry represented by the authority and representatives of the private tourism sector to develop a joint plan To promote tourism to Egypt in the various tourism markets and to prioritize each market according to the size and importance of these markets for Egyptian tourism.


The meeting touched on the importance of making greater use of Egypt's participation in the Dubai Expo 2020 to promote Egyptian tourism, which is scheduled to open in October 2021 and will continue for a period of 6 months, as the minister indicated his visit to the exhibition site and inspected the Egyptian pavilion participating in it during his visit to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates The United Arab Emirates to attend the Arab Market for Tourism and Travel Forum, pointing out that the bulk of the exhibition was devoted to shedding light on tourism and antiquities in Egypt.
