2 dead, 7 missing in Colombia mine explosion


At least two people were killed and seven others trapped in an explosion inside a coal mine in Socha, central Colombia, the National Mines Agency said Thursday.


He also rescued 3 wounded people at the site where police and Red Cross elements gathered, as well as engineers to participate in the search.


The agency said in a statement that the accident may have been caused by the accumulation of methane and coal dust in the Diamante 5 mine. The country counted 171 victims of mining sector accidents during 2020 compared to 82 in the previous year.
