Tens of thousands of Mauritanians march in support of occupied Jerusalem and reject the Israeli aggression

Tens of thousands of Mauritanians demonstrated in Nouakchott, in a rally in support of the occupied city of Jerusalem on Wednesday evening, amid rejection of the continued Israeli aggression against Palestine.

The participants in the march, which the political parties in Mauritania called for, raised banners written on some of them, supporting the people of Jerusalem and Gaza. The demonstrators chanted slogans against the Israeli occupation and condemned the massacres committed against children and civilians in the Gaza Strip.

Thousands of people set off from Ibn Abbas Mosque on Gamal Abdel Nasser Street, which is the largest and most famous street in the capital, heading to the United Nations headquarters.

Some demonstrators raised the Mauritanian and Palestinian flags, and the Mauritanian police took charge of securing and protecting the demonstration, without causing any frictions or problems.

The march coincides with donation campaigns organized in Mauritania - for several days - in order to support the residents of the Gaza Strip affected by the Israeli aggression.
