Geagea: The ruling parliamentary majority bears the responsibility for not forming a government in Lebanon

The head of the Lebanese Forces Party, Samir Geagea, held the parliamentary majority that is holding power at the present time, consisting of the Free Patriotic Movement, Hezbollah, Amal Movement and their allies, responsible for the failure to form the new government and the exacerbation of Lebanon's crises and the living difficulties of the Lebanese.

Geagea said - in a televised speech to him today - that it has been nearly 5 months since the leader of the Future Movement, Saad Hariri, was appointed to lead and form the new government, but the government has not been formed yet, indicating that he does not see the possibility of forming a new government of independent specialists under The current situation in the country.

He pointed out that the Lebanese system of government is the main pillar of the House of Representatives as the center of gravity in power, and that this matter makes the Lebanese look to Parliament and not differences between the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister-designate, which requires that the current parliamentary majority fulfill its duty and assume its responsibilities and work to resolve the governmental crisis. .

He stressed that the situation is getting worse and that the crises are exacerbating, in a way that makes the lives and livelihood of the Lebanese people more difficult and complicated, pointing out that the group currently in control of power in Lebanon will not be able to continue to seize power based on "the dire situation that we have reached."

The head of the Lebanese Forces Party called on the existing caretaker government to manage the situation and not give up its responsibility until the formation of the new government, in light of the exceptional situations and the difficult circumstances that Lebanon is witnessing.

He said: "The current caretaker government acts as if it does not exist, while a similar government is present in the constitution and laws and on the ground and has work to complete it, and it must not stand idly by only because it is a caretaker government, but rather it must deal with the emerging emergency situation." As if it was an actual government. "

Geagea added: "There is no doubt that we are going through very difficult situations during this period. We wake up every day to new bad news, whether it is related to the Lebanese pound, job opportunities, social conditions, or the like, but at the same time I have no doubt." That salvation is coming, and what is surprising is that the pillars of power today do not realize that when conditions deteriorate to this extent, if this indicates anything, then their days are numbered.

He concluded by saying, "They - the pillars of the authority - continue to entertain until the moment, for an hour they work to form the government and an hour they do not work, an hour they want the suspended ministerial third and the others do not. They are having fun as if conditions are normal in Lebanon."
