Minister of Communications: Graduating participants with the training of trainers program in the field of artificial intelligence



Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology via video conference, witnessed the activities of graduating participants in the training of trainers program in the field of artificial intelligence launched by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and implemented by the French College of Computer and Advanced Technologies EPITA with the aim of preparing national cadres of certified trainers to teach a 9-month diploma in the field of intelligence Artificial through the Institute of Information Technology.

 

The training program comes within the framework of cooperation between the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the French College of Computer and Advanced Technologies EPITA to develop a joint educational program and create an effective system for knowledge transfer by preparing trainers and launching a diploma program in the field of artificial intelligence.

 

The program was implemented over a period of two months via the Internet by specialists from the French College of Computer and Advanced Technologies to train (156) Egyptian expertise on curricula and training content for the AI ​​diploma developed by the college to suit the Egyptian market. The trainees were selected by a joint committee from the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the French College to represent various academic and industrial bodies from among more than 1,600 applications.

 

During the meeting; Dr. Amr Talaat emphasized that the training program comes within the framework of the Ministry's keenness to build the capacities of young minds, as it represents an investment for the future and a basic pillar for building a digital Egypt. He pointed to the ministry’s interest in harnessing all potentials to enrich the training program that is being implemented in cooperation with the French College while working on making it available to larger numbers.

 

Dr. Amr Talaat praised the partnership with the French College of Computer and Advanced Technologies, which started during the minister's visit to France with the aim of benefiting from its expertise in capacity building in the field of artificial intelligence, which would contribute to achieving the benefit from the potential of this technology to address the challenges facing the Egyptian society He expressed his aspiration to expand Egyptian-French cooperation in various fields and specialties of technology.

 

In his speech to the training program graduates: The Minister indicated that creativity and human effort are the focus of any initiative's success. Emphasizing the confidence of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in their competence and experience gained from training, which qualified them to be certified trainers for this distinguished program; He called on them to transfer their experiences and provide training content to build specialized personnel in this field.

 

Alaa Youssef, Egypt's ambassador to France, referred to the effective cooperation that Egypt and France are witnessing, especially in the fields related to communications and information technology. He praised the efficiency of the training program that is implemented in joint cooperation between the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the French College of Computer and Advanced Technologies, as well as the model adopted by the ministry to build and develop the technological capabilities of the largest number of qualified Egyptian youth in all parts of Egypt.


Stefan Romatier, Ambassador of France in Cairo, expressed his happiness to participate in the graduation ceremony for the batch of trainers within the program that is implemented in cooperation with the French College of Computer and Advanced Technologies EPITA Referring to the contribution of the French embassy in coordinating the first meeting with the French College during the minister's visit in 2019; He emphasized his aspiration to build on this success through other partnerships in areas of common interest.

 

Engineer Golestan Radwan, Advisor to the Minister of Communications and Information Technology for Artificial Intelligence, explained that the National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence aims to employ AI technology to develop all sectors and enhance Egypt's regional leadership in this field. Its axes also include capacity building and providing training to all segments of society in this technology as well as developing practical applications and disseminating AI systems. Noting that it looks forward to the participation of AI diploma graduates to play a pioneering role in using this technology to achieve development.

 

Dr. Heba Saleh, Head of the Information Technology Institute, indicated that the completion of the trainers' training coincides with the opening of the door for applying for the professional training grant in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI-Pro), which is the first of its kind in Egypt and the duration of the study lasts nine months, during which the Information Technology Institute trains more From 1000 young people annually to the applications of this specialization, using the base of trainers and the training curriculum that the French College of Computer and Advanced Technologies has prepared.

 

It is worth noting that 5,600 young people have applied for this scholarship so far, and in light of the increasing demand of applicants, the Minister directed to pump more investments to accommodate all applicants who are eligible for this distinguished program.

 

Dr. Jewal Quartoah, Director General of the French College of Computer and Advanced Technologies, praised the Egyptian efforts in the field of building specialized human capacities, as well as the efficiency of the Egyptian trainees and the level of technical awareness and experience they enjoy. He expressed his hope for more cooperation in various technological disciplines.

 

The meeting was attended by Engineer Rabie Haddad, Director of International Programs at the French College of Computer and Advanced Technologies, and Dr. Mohamed Farouk, Director of the Information Technology Institute branch in Ismailia, and the supervisor of the Training Program for Trainers in Artificial Intelligence.

 

It is worth noting that the education system at the French College of Computer and Advanced Technologies depends on providing students with both the basics of engineering and the highest degrees of experience in the fields of computer science and information and communication technology, and has institutional partnerships with many international companies, including Google, Microsoft, SAP, Siemens and Facebook, and has more Of 96% of "IBITA" students, they have job opportunities before their graduation.
